Manual Dumping Station for Pneumatic Conveyors

A new Manual Dumping Station for pneumatic conveying systems from Flexicon collects dust created during manual dumping of powder and bulk solid materials from bags, boxes, drums and other containers, it was announced by David Boger, sales manager.

The hopper is configured with a non-flow-through pick-up adapter for introducing material into vacuum pneumatic conveyor lines. Hoppers are also available with rotary airlock valves and outlets for connection to a flexible screw conveyor, or other conveyors or process equipment.

The unit features a high-velocity vacuum fan that draws airborne dust from the operator's atmosphere onto two cartridge filters. Automatic reverse-pulse filter cleaning allows continuous, efficient operation;

timer-activated solenoid valves release short blasts of compressed plant air inside cartridge filters causing dust build-up on the outer filter surfaces to fall into the hopper.

Filters are accessed easily by removing the interior baffle, and replaced rapidly using quick-disconnect fittings.

The manual dumping station is available mounted on frames with boom and casters for in-plant mobility, and is constructed of carbon steel with durable industrial finish, or stainless steel finished to industrial, food, dairy or pharmaceutical standards.

According to Boger, it is intended to reduce material waste and eliminate the need to clean a remote dust collection site, while protecting workers and preventing plant contamination.
