Sales Engineer-Controls Automation

General Areas of Responsibility:

Direct response to customer inquiries, including:

  • Technical engineering support for the pre-sale process
  • Design automation controls system to meet customer’s needs
  • Develop appropriate pricing and write quotation for the controls system

Support of Flexicon Applications Engineers, Regional Sales Managers, and field sales representatives pertaining to the controls scope of supply
Elements of overall project management, including:

  • Serve as a resource to Flexicon Electrical Engineers during panel fabrication and programming phase of project
  • Obtain pricing on special controls components where required
  • Obtain all relevant information to allow Flexicon Design Engineering, Production and Electrical Engineering departments design and fabricate Flexicon control systems
  • Serve as technical liaison between customers and Flexicon personnel when questions arise during all phases of a given project

Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships
  • Ability to make solid decisions and recommendations in a rapid paced, forward thinking environment
  • Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision, adhering to deadlines and commitments
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to compile, review and reconcile data for accuracy, completeness and compliance
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, codes, standards and regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of and ability to use standard computer applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Broad knowledge of control system platforms – Allen Bradley and Siemens is a plus
  • Experience with weighing systems is a plus

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have an Engineering degree (Electrical preferred) from an accredited educational institute, or a minimum of 3 years sales experience with a technical background in the field of controls automation.
